Are gift certificates emailed?  by  MGK
Gift certificates are emailed to the email address you designate as the 'recipient'. Optionally, gift certificates can be mailed if requested to the purchaser or to the recipient.

Are the dinners cooked?  by  MGK
No, all dinners are “ready to cook” and must be handled as raw food with close attention paid to 'Cook By' dates. Upon request, we can cook dinners for you for an added fee.

Are you able to tailor meals to my specific needs?  by  MGK
Please call us at 844-233-2433 regarding specific dietary needs. We have clients for whom we provide gluten free and renal diet meal plans. Once we better understand your specific needs we likely can work up a meal plan.

Can I freeze my dinners?  by  MGK
We do not recommend that you freeze your dinners as they are not packaged to preserve quality and freshness when frozen. If you need to preserve your dinners over a period of time that's greater than a week, we'd recommend you cook your dinners first, then freeze them.

Can you substitute olive oil for vegetable oil?  by 
Because stir-fry's are at cooked at high heat, you want to avoid low smoke point oils - essentially the oil gets too hot and starts smoking at a low temp and begins to break down and is generally unhealthy and changes the flavor of the dish. As long as you avoid extra virgin olive oil, you can use light olive oil. The smoke point on light olive oil is in the same range as vegetable oil. So you should have no issues substituting light olive oil for vegetable oil for high heat cooking needs.

Can you substitute white rice with brown?  by  MGK
Yes you can upon request. To request a substitution, you can request it when checking out by noting it in the order comments field, or you can contact us at anytime by email, live chat or phone and we'll be happy to switch out the white rice for you.

Do dinners come with a side?  by  MGK
Almost all our dinners come with an accompanying side dish. Descriptions of side dishes can be found by clicking on an entree.

Do you deliver to commercial addresses?  by  MGK
We typically deliver to residential addresses. If you need to take delivery at a commercial address, we may be able to accommodate you. Outdoor parking would need to be readily available and we'd need to be able to drop off with a receptionist if you're not available. Please contact us if you need us to assist you with delivery to a commercial office location.

Do you have gift certificates?  by  MGK
Gift certificates make a great gift for family, friends and clients. We carry gift certificates in many different denominations from $10 to $500. All gift certificate purchases are final and non-refundable. You can see our gift certificates here

Do you have nutritional / calorie information available?  by  MGK
You won't find any nutritional information on our entrees for a number of reasons. First because our service is a meal kit service with you at the helm as the Chef that pulls it all together. As Chef you have a fair amount of control over what ultimately goes into your final cooked meal. We'll under season protein, but if you prefer we can skip seasoning all together and leave it completely to you. While we also provide you with the sauces already made, you are able to control how much sauce you ultimately use. 

The second reason is more philosophical. Chef Maria believe's the most nutritious meals are those that are made with fresh, wholesome, quality ingredients that are packed with nature's nutrients. She ascribes to a balanced approach that skips the calorie counting for healthy individuals and instead uses portion control with all meals portioned to 6 oz of protein, 4 oz of vegetables and 14 oz of potato or rice. Her entrees will typically range between 500 and 1000 calories per serving with fish entrees on the lower end and pastas on the upper end of the scale.

Does someone have to be at home to accept delivery?  by  MGK
No, we deliver your dinners in a keep it cool bag and leave it at your front door. There's no need to be home at the time of delivery.

How can I make changes to my A La Carte order?  by  MGK
A La Carte orders may not be changed and are final once the order has been submitted and payment received.

How can I make changes to my Auto Delivery order?  by  MGK
To change your auto-delivery service, send an email to autodelivery@mariasgourmetkitchen.com before Friday. You may change between Auto-Delivery options or skip a week as well.

How Do I Cancel My Maria's Select Membership  by  MGK
You may cancel your Maria's Select Membership at any time by sending an email to selectclients@mariasgourmetkitchen.com. Your membership will end once we have processed your request after which you will no longer receive any further membership benefits. Any annual membership fees that have already been paid are non-refundable.

How do I cancel?  by  MGK
All a la carte orders are final and your credit card will be charged when your order is placed. For Auto-Delivery customers, to cancel or change your auto-delivery service, send an email to autodelivery@mariasgourmetkitchen.com. Cancellations received after Friday of a given week will have one more week of meal service.

How hard is it to cook the dinners?  by  MGK
We think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is. Each of our dinners online has cooking instructions and times to give you an idea of difficulty before you order. We commonly get feedback from clients about how fast and easy it is.

How many weeks a year do you deliver?  by  MGK
We do not offer weekly dinner service on official holidays. Instead, those weeks we typically offer our special Holiday Packages. Look at our current menu for more information regarding weeks we are not offering a regular dinner service.

How much does delivery cost?  by  MGK
Our delivery fees are just $5 per delivery and are calculated separately once your order is processed. For instance, an order for an entire week's dinners, would have 2 delivery charges, one for Monday delivery and one for Thursday delivery. Monday's delivery would include all dinners for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday's delivery would include all dinners for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

How often do you deliver?  by  MGK
Because FRESH MATTERS, we deliver our personal chef prepared, ready-to-cook dinners twice a week to your Houston area neighborhood. Depending on where you live in the Houston metro area, your dinner delivery days will be either on Monday's & Thursday's or Tuesday's & Friday's. Check our delivery area map to determine your delivery days

Each dinner has a 'Cook By' date, typically within 3 to 5 days of delivery

We're sorry you're not in our delivery area. There may be some alternative options we might be able to look at to still make it work for you. If you live close to one of our delivery areas, we may be able to make an exception and still get deliveries to you. Alternatively, if you work within one of our delivery areas, we may be able to deliver to your work address. Contact us and we can look to see if there may be any options.
